If you are on the Pill I don't know as to how accurately you can
attribute "period" weirdness to low carbing. When you are on the Pill
you don't really have periods, you technically have withdrawal bleeding
which has nothing to do with the menstrual cycle or even necassasarily
your own body's hormones.
Aldactone can and does cause irregular/frequent menstrual bleeding. This
is one reason it is often prescribed in conjuction with the BCP. It
could be that the BCP you are on is not strong enough to counter the
effects of the Aldactone.
