Hi Aslihan,

Losing weight is really difficult. I sympathise. Sometimes we just need to get to acertain point before we really make the move. FOr me it came when I started having health problems last year (and my Dr. was really encouraging me to lose weight), and then found I had PCOS a few months ago and just a few weeks ago dianosed with Hypothryoid.... and currently some other stuff going on. I realise that if I don't look after myself well now I am not going to have much quality of life later. It was kind of a releif to find out all these homrone stuff as now I know there is a reason that it is so hard to lose wieght and also I am utterly determined that I am going to lose. So far lost nearly 30 lbs. Still have about 30 to go. So what has been working:- 1. Finally found a form of exercise I like and can stick with (normally) - I now play tennis 4 or more times a week. Trying to convince myself to start swiming but what with being fat and super hairy down below I am pretty conscious about what others would think - particularly as I am a European(Australian) living in Philippines and attract more than enough attention as it is.

2. Started using low carbs- cutting out as much refined carb as possible. It sounds hard (and it took a bit of effort initially), but once I made a start it became much much easier, becuase I realised how much better I feel with less carbs. Rfined carbs really make me feel soooo bad. Also no more cravings. Ie. if I start eating white bread, I can easily eat one whole loaf. But if I don't start I don't feel a need. My whole pattern of feeling hungry has changed.

3. Being treated with metformin and thyroid hormone - and have an up-to-date, agressive towards treatment, supportive and encouraging Dr. who I like and trust. I am sure my metabolism is increasing. My body shape is definitly changing. That big old PCOS belly is reducing - at last.

I don't know if the above is any help. But thought I would share my experience. Don't give up.

Best Wishes
