Hi I am also from the Uk, my suggestion is a Low carb diet, though you have to be prepared to do without a lot, if you want more info on a low carb high protein diet read the Atkins Diet book,,,I am currently on this myself (can be bought at WH Smith or other book stores) and have lost about 5kg,s about 11lbs and still going strong, you need to do a induction two weeks in which you reduce your carb intake to about 20gramms after which you can increase it slightly.
