Re: Need some suggestions on just how many carbs I can have...and diet suggestions

I was told to follow the 1800 Cal diabetic diet (actually designed for gestational diabetes less 1 carb serving daily)by my Ob/GYn and endo, and I've lost 25 pounds since April, and my blood sugar is more stable (particularly my post-preandial). Ask the same nutritionist you saw or a different one to give you descriptions and meal plans for women who have gestational diabetes. She should have them, since this is a common consult for nutritionists. The plan had some flexibility, but limited and redistributed my carb intake. Also, "proper" servings of different foods are described so you can apply serving sizes to new foods.
