hi hannah, i'm also 23 and found out i had pcos about a year ago...having tried for ages to get a doctor to actually take it seriously (because my only real symptons were lack of periods and bad skin)it was such a relief to actually find a doctor who knew all about PCOs and was sympathetic. Try to go to a woman doctor and change doctors if you have to until you find one who is sympathetic as it makes such a difference. I took dianette for 6 months which worked well- another really good option i found was going to a chinese doctor as they try to get to the cause rather than dealing only with treating the effects. using both acupuncture and herbs to holistically deal with the problem really helped my symptoms ( i actually had regular periods you could set your watch to for the first time in my life) - i understand this may not work or suit everyone but i was so desparate for a cure rather than a treatment i was ready to try anything...good luck anyways, and ignore the nasty doctor! you are married, your husband obviously loves you the way you are...so bear that in mind when you next feel down!
