Re: What now?From: Jennifer (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 18 Jul 2001 06:57:06 -0500 (CDT)
As I sit here reading your personal trials with PCOS, my heart aches for you. Yet at the same time I am filled with happy tears because FINALLY somone understands what I have been going through! I've never even heard of PCOS until my husband and I went to Barnes & Noble one evening and I picked up a book and began reading. Amazing! After all these years of being told that I would be unable to conceive (told this on my 1st trip to the ob/gyn) and bleeding for periods as long as six months or going for 2 years with no period I realize that I am not crazy but that the Dr.'s I have seen have been missing some very important information. I am 29 years old, I have been married for 6 years (although the first marriage didn't last!). I have never been on birth control pills, yet I have not conceived! My entire life I have been told this is "normal. Not every woman ovulates every 30 days" etc. etc. Thank you to everyone that has posted here. I am making an appointment with my Dr. today as soon as the office opens!
