I need some advice about PCOS

I have been diagnosed by my doctor with PCOS and she has put me on a weight loss program, plus Meridia. I want to know if I eat sugary foods will that increase my insulin level or keep it high? Is PCOS completely fixable or will I have to fight this for the rest of my life? What are some dieting tips I can use on the proper foods to eat and the improper ones that will help me with this problem? I feel like I am addicted to sweets and my skin will crawl if I dont get sweets every day or two days. Is this sudden addiction to sweets due to my insulin level being up? If anyone can help me with these questions I would appriciate it.
