Dear Natasja

I presume Provera is the injection (we call it Deprovera here in SA). I was on it for a while and weird discharges are normal. I found often in between periods which were few and far between that I got the brown discharges and sometimes a couple days after a period finished.

The doctor says eventually that on the injection periods will disappear all together.

Please note that when you come off the injection you may get 10 - 12 days brown blood as I call it. This is apparently also "normal".

There is also one very bad thing about the injection - it commonly increases acne so you have to take something for that too.

As for the regular doctor - forget it - you have to see a specialist - either a good gynacologist or an endocrinologist - as PCOS is classified as an endocrinology syndrome. Contact your local hospital to find out who these people are.
