I have always felt like a freakFrom: Joan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 5 Jun 2001 18:49:21 -0500 (CDT)
I actually was diagnosed with PCO in my early 20s, but have never done anything about it, though a few years ago went to a doctor with concerns about hair loss (and hair growth where I didn't want it) and was ignored. Though I have never had severe problems with my weight, having facial hair (and now more hair growth on arms and elsewhere) as I enter my 40s is very disheartening. I have always felt like a freak, starting in my teens, and have felt a lack a confidence due to what I feel is a disfigurement. I decided to search websites regarding this subject when I saw a book in the library about it (though I was too embarrassed to check it out). Any suggestions, comments, support would be greatly appreciated.....joan
