I'm afraid carbs are they key........

I have had skin problems my whole life (now 35). Sugar is the main agitant I find. I was only diagnosed 8 months ago with PCOS, at that time I had a face like a Pizza (spots like boils). I have refined my diet with a mixture of "sugar busters" and "Atkins".

Basically the diet is no sugar at all, in anything (I use artificial sweetners). Nothing which is made from white flour like bread, pastry or pasta (I buy wholemeal varieties). No White rice only brown rice.

No potatoes. I never eat simple carbohydrates on their own as they turn to glucose as soon as they are digested. Complex carbohydrates like those I have described take longer to digest and so do not create glucose spikes, which cause an insulin rush, which stops your hormones working, which lets your free testerone level rise......which gives you acne and makes you fatter because insulin makes your body store the glucose as fat.

But I now have gorgeous skin and I am 16 pounds lighter. So it's not all bad, and diabetic ice cream is quite good substitute.

Good Luck.
