I think it is indeed possible. I have had little trouble adjusting to a low-carb approach.With the help of egular exercise, I've lost 25lbs in less than a year-what I feel is a healthy though not speedy rate. I do eat dairy products and some fish. Instead of following a 'diet' per se. I use the glycemic index as a guideline and try and eat better carbs rather than less. Good luck. If you are more interested in something structured you might consider "The Soy Zone'(though the jury is still out on the benefits of soy for those of with endocrine issues-I wouldn't depend on soy too exclusively for protien)
