There are alot of different approaches to low carb diets for those with PCOS.The approach that has helped me is using the glycemic index as a guideline. It is very flexibleand allows me alot of choices without counting and measuring. Basically, I keep my kitchen stocked with my healthiest options and try and make responsible choices while dining out. The basic concept is to limit foods that are more likely to cause an insulin surge-ie: those with higher glycemic index value. Foods to be avoided include white flour, white rice, potatoes, and sugar. This allows all sorts of whole grains and almost every vegtable. We also bake using fructose-which is easy to substitute for table sugar and helps me avoid the deprived feeling that can cause a diet to be derailed. Here is a link that might help:
