I also had tried all the diffent meds. The Avandia was the less intrusive, but I had no effect, no periods either. Before the XR Version of Glucofage I was taking a low dose. Not able to go over 500 mg. Now that I have been on Metformin Glucofage XR, I am on 1000 mg, with no side effects. (I do have nausea and diarrea within the first two days of a dosage change). I am rearing up for the next jump to 1500 mg. That is my goal. Keep on researching.

The Metformin will aide in weight loss, if coupled with exercise and diet, at leat with me it has helped. It also controls which ever symptoms you may have. Mine are no periods and I have them now...
