Can any1 help?From: JuliaB (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 11 May 2001 16:47:24 -0500 (CDT)
I'm 29 and I've finally been diagnosed with PCOS. In the last 10 years I've steady gained 40 kilos (88 pounds?? - sorry but I'm Australian and use kg/kms). I've been the Atkins Diet for 6 weeks (the 14 day induction diet) - no carbs at all. I'm exercising - I walk on average 6kms (miles ??) a day. I've lost a total of 2 kilos (4.4 pounds) in 6 weeks. And only in the first two weeks. The only medics I'm taking is 100mg Aldactone (Sprionolactone) daily. I'm really frustrated - I can't, it seems, lose any more weight. I would like to lose another about 25kg/55 pounds. I'm using the Lipo-Keto sticks every nite and in the last week the colour has gone from a dark pink to negative again. I've stuck religiously to the diet !!!! No chocolate, diet drinks - and everything sugar/caffiene free. Am I being too impatient? Has anyone experienced is? Could the Aldactone be affecting weight loss? I'm willing to stop taking if it's impeding the weight loss. I can handle the hirsutism after I get to my goal weight. I would love to hear from anyone.
