Re: new here-what does an endocrinologist do?From: Kim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 26 Apr 2001 11:24:40 -0600
anonymous Hi. My name is Kim I have PCOS too well what I can tell you is that all endo's are different, my endo first took my whole life story like when was your last period and how you have been feeling overall. They will probably take a blood test to see how your insulin levels are and hormone levels too. And then make a decision based on what you have told them and how your tests come back and go over with you on what is the best treatment for you. I am insulin resistant and my doctor put my on Glucophage 1500 mg a day and spiro for hair growth on my face. I hope all goes well don't be scared they are there to help you get through all of this. If you need to talk just e-mail me i would love to chat with someone who is going through the same thing. let us know what went on. take care. kim
