Hi Everyone. My name is Janie and I am so happy to find this board. I was just diagnosed 3 weeks ago with PCOS. Here's my Reader's Digest condensed "in a nutshell" story. I was always fat...fat kid...obese adult. I topped out at about 400 pounds. Well, a couple of years ago, I started working out every day and I improved my diet (I've been a vegetarian for 10 years...yes there ARE fat vegetarians. I am now a vegan...no animal products). So anyhoo...I am on my merry way and lose 200 pounds. COOL. But then I hit this wall. At first I figured that it was just due to the fact that I have always been big and 200 pounds is a lot to lose blah blah blah. But then I had all these other symptoms. How my weight is distributed, hirsuitism, age of gaining weight...I could go on, but I will spare you. So I went to a specialist who told me that 1) It is amazing that I lost any weight, let alone as much as I have and 2)There is a light at the end of the tunnel. So she put me on glucophage and here I am 3 weeks later...excited...but nauseous from the meds :-) I feel so great to know that all the weird things about my body are related to this and there is help. I have a web site and I love visitors. There are pics, workout info, recipes etc. I am in the midst of changing everything up, since I got this news. Stop by and visit. I will be back here soon. I love reading everyone else's stories too. Have a great day Janie
