Don't give up on all the protein bars yet

Hi - I was reading some of the back posts on protein bars and wanted to add my two cents. There are definetely some beastly ones out there but I have found several that really are very good - and are probably the main reason I am not cheating on the diet right now. My favorite is the Protein Revolution Protein Bar in Peanut Butter and Jelly flavor (this tastes like a candy bar for sure). But I have had good luck also with the Adkins Advantage Bars in Lemon Chiffon (not chocolate coated), chocolate-coconut, chocloate-mocha, and chocolate peanut butter. (I was not so crazy about the chocolate-raspberry and the chocolate-macadamia nut to my surprise.) The best way to figure out what works for you is to try them individually - GNC and many grocery stores (including Safeway) usually carry them as individual bars. It costs more per bar initially then buying them by the box but saves the frustration of getting many in a flavor you don't like.

I find the product review of protein bars, drinks etc. that they do on the Low Carb Luxury website (http://www.locarbluxury.com) are pretty much in sync with my tastes. That site really has opened up some options for me (particuarly in beverages since I am not using aspartame or saccarin sweetened drinks either). I give it my highest recomendation for keeping up with what is new on the low carb market!

Good Luck
