Some supplements

Hi Kelly,

Don't forget to take a good multivitamin and mineral supplement. We also need omega-3 (from fish oils), so it is a good idea to take a fish capsule or, if you can't stomach that, use flax seed. I use the oil in my salad dressings (it doesn't cook well), and take capsules with the seed regularly. It is an excellent fiber which will help not only lower a food's carb count, it will help cleanse toxins from your system. It also helped me (fiber and oil combined) reverse the cholesterol problem that is common to PCOS. (It will help lower LD cholesterol and raise HDC.)

Vitamin E is essential (if not in your multivitamin), and I have found that either primrose oil or current oil have properties which help the body process fat. Most health food/pharmacies will carry these.

I also take vitex (chaste tree berry) tincture (help the endocrine system balance the reproductive hormones), milk thistle and nettle tincture (helps the liver process and eliminate toxins). I use saw palmetto to help with the excess facial hair growth (and yes ladies, I can see a definite improvement with this!) I am also using lecithin (soya bean) daily, as it has a high amount of chiro-inositol (something we cisters tend to be missing), and because I know of several ladies who take this and have been having regular cycles again! So far, the only thing I have noticed with that one is my acne has cleared up, but hey, that one I'll gladly take!

Leslie
