Re: How can I lose weight with PCOS?From: donna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Mar 2001 09:49:50 -0600 (CST)
First question I have is are you being seen by a doctor and are you being treated via medication and or diet? I too would work out like a maniac only to not lose weight. With PCOS we have a handicap with the hormonal inbalances as well as if you are insulin resistant. Through my medication of met and 150 carbs and 40 grams of fat a day prescribed by my doctor and endo nutrionist I have lost 50 pounds since mid-September. I also excerise (try to any way) 3 - 4 days a week should increase as the weather gets nicer! Hope this helps in some way --- if you are being seen by a doctor and they are not really helping try a new one..I made myself a promise before my first visit with my endo that if I didn't feel comfortable or feel like I was being taking seriously I would seek out another doctor. Good Luck and keep us updated. donna
