I was diagnosed with PCOS (officially) in September, 2000, and began taking 1500 mg glucophage daily. My original insulin levels were 17 after fasting and 41 two hours later. Since that time I have lost approximately 30 pounds and feel pretty good.

My delimma is as follows: after the initial 90 days on glucophage, my blood tests came back normal (8 after fasting and 13 two hours later), but my blood tests this month came back badly again (68.1 after fasting and 71.7 two hours later). My doctor wants to switch me to Avandia 4 mg once a day to start. Is anyone taking this medication, and if so, how are you feeling? I'm a bit worried, because the glucophage seems to help keep my weight down (along with watching my carbs and exercising)..will avandia do the same? any input would be appreciated..thanks!!
