glucophage and eatingFrom: kmarie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 4 Mar 2001 09:49:14 -0600 (CST)
hi all i only in last month have been taking glucophage and of course last week my dr, raised it to 500 mg 2 x day. My problem is that it is making me so sick i do not want to eat. I am vegan and have trying to at least get more protein in my diet -- but if i see one more veggie dog, veggie burger, etc -- i might scream. I am used to eating more simply -- rice and beans, pasta and greens, etc. Which of course, everyone says is a no-no with PCOS. However, I am not yet willing to compromise the ethics behind my eating. Any tips on how to make using the glucophage less sickening -- i sat and cried an hour before i could take it yesterday and today is about the same. I do not want to take it -- as i will feel queasier, have the great bodily effects, and feel worn out. I know i need to give it a chance -- but it scares me because it feels like i am moving back into an anoretic sort of mode -- which would not be a really healthy choice either. any suggestions?
-- kmarie
