>Pregnancy requires 300 additional calories a day for the baby. I would talk to my OBGYN about nutrition and how many calories you should be intaking for a healthy pregnancy. I know that if your IR that watching carbs can actually help you not become GDM while pregnant (Gestational Diabetes Militus). PCOS patients that are IR are at higher risk for this. I would NOT try to loose weight while pregnant because that can indanger your baby. I know that I actually lost wieght with out even trying my first trimester and I am considerably over wieght. My doctor actually recommended that my next pregnancy should be treated like a diabetic pregnancy and I will be following a diabetic diet even if I do not become GDM because my last pregnancy resulted in misscarriage possibly do to PCOS and IR.These are all questions to ask your Doctor if you do find out you are pregnant. in the mean time GOOD LUCK!! and keep up the good work with the CAD diet!!
