Low CarbingFrom: Christina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 1 Mar 2001 05:06:42 -0600 (CST)
Hi all... :) I've just been reading a couple of the posts and everyone seems really concerned about low carbing, or unsure how to exactly go about it. The main thing you have to do when going on a low carb diet is to eat a well balanced diet. Low carb does not mean no carb and while some people limit their carbs to 20-30 g/day, most people do not have to go to that extreme. Rule of thumb, eat simple carbohydrates v.s. complex carbohydrates. Some major culprits are bread, pasta, potatoes and believe it or not, corn. Eat whole grain wherever you can (100%), and salads (fruit, ceasar, garden) are a great thing. Pretty much, stay away from the junk, heavy sauces, too many potatoes ect. I love carbs and I have found it difficult to stick to a low carb diet, and I do fall off the wagon occasionally, but I've returned to the gym and have lost 10 lbs. in the last month. I also include drinking a lot of water into my diet. I hope this helps. :)
