Hi. I've had a similar experience as some of the women who have posted. Three years ago I decided to cut out all sugar and then I went on meds (bcp and spiro). I didn't yet know about low carbs for PCOS. The no sugar helped and then when I learned about low carbs I tried that and it has worked for me and helped me maintain my 30lb loss for 2 years. I don't do strict low carbs. (My hair fell out when I tried Atkins) What works for me is moderated carbs. Limiting it to 200 or less grams per day approx. And making sure I never eat carbs by themselves. Always with protein and fat. It seems to have settled my blood sugar levels and I don't 'crave' sugary carbo loaded things. Another thing is I never skip breakfast. It throws my whole system off. I like the book by Anne Louise Gittleman called Your Body Knows Best. I generally follow that plan as a long-term eating regimin.
