Maddy, you don't need to do anything that would make you uncomfortable. there are many different approaches. I use the glycemic index as a guide-avoid simple carbs and try to eat mainly whole grain foods etc..for me the less it feels like a 'diet' the better I'll do on it. I am including 2 links-one is for a FAQ that,among other things, describes the standard diets and their differences.You'll need to scroll down towards the end to get to the diet section. The second one is a glycemic index list, if you are interested. Good luck.
