Re: will low carbs alone work? Progesterone cream treatment???From: hf (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 5 Feb 2001 21:03:30 -0600 (CST)
I notice you say you use Progesterone cream to CAUSE your periods to become regular? This intrigues me. The blood test showed elevated progesterone, high LH ans low FSH. (Ratio over 4). It seems like taking more progesterone would be like leaning into a punch. But I think it could work. So is this HOW you do it? (I am taking this information from a book, "PCOS, the Hidden Epidemic" by Samual Thatcher, MD. Copyright 2000.) After day cycle 14, you start taking progesterone to elevate your levels, peaking your level about day 21. Then lowering your rate gradually until day 28. This supposedly emulates a women's natural period. Then, if the forced progesterone cycle has worked out, you have a "natural" 12-14 days resulting in a possible O. If this is your plan, please say so. If you use a different approach, please give the details... There is another place where I saw a similar plan described, I think it was in the Journal of Clinical Investigations or else I was searching PubMed where I read that taking progesterone can force a cycle to become regular.
