Thanks for your message. When you said 50g of carbs per meal, what kind
of carbs are you counting? Are you eating fruits, veggies? Are you
eating any kind of carbs that you want for those 50?
Just trying to learn more because I tried low-carbs before, and it
didn't really work. I want to try again - but afraid I won't get
results.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

>>I first went to my primary care physician who refered me to an endocrinologist. He suggested that I go on a low carbohydrate diet before beginning medication. That was on Dec. 13,2000. I have been trying to keep my carbs. to no more than 50 grams per meal, eliminated snacks, sodas, juices, and I have lost 15 lbs. thus far. I also have high choleseterol and have been put on baycol by my family doctor. I will go for more blood tests in a month to see if ther are any changes. I have seen my weight increase steadily fro the past few years and no matter what I did, I could not lose a pound. As I look back, I realize now that as I was trying to watch my fats I was eating more carbohydrates which was compounding my weight problem. Hope this helps a little.
