Laurie,

Being confused is a state of being with PCOS, at least in my view. Takes a while to get things sorted out, as there is so much to this problem. I pretty much control my PCOS with diet. I was on drugs for a while, and it made me ill, so I decided to go the low carb route. I lost somewhere between 40 and 50 lbs without much of an effort (shocked the daylights out of me. I've never been able to lose weight in my life!). My periods began to come back with the weight loss. It did not help with my hair loss, or facial hair growth, but it was a start.

I also had decided to experiment with a couple of herbs, such as vitex to help give the ovaries a boost and saw palmetto to help with the hair problem. I noticed with the vitex that my cycles were much more regular when I took the vitex and my hair difficulties have fairly much stopped, so I am a much happier person. Still have a long way to go, but feel like I'm heading in the right direction now anyway.
