Having doubtsFrom: katie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Jan 2001 13:17:19 -0600 (CST)
I have had PCOS for 7 years, but only found out that I had already been diagnosed with it in 1994 - nobody told me!!! I have been fighting to be taken seriously only t find out that it's there, right at the back of my file. And, beleive it or not, it was only because I was in for suspected Chickenpox that I found out! Anyway, it's also in my file that all the blood tests have been taken. My LH was high, which is why they diagnosed me - but told me it was just a "hormone imbalance". However, when I tried to explain about the whole insulin-resistance link my doctor didn't know what I was talking about and said my Glucose levels were normal. Now I'm really confused - is glucose the same as insulin? And if it's normal, does it mean that there is no point in going on a low-carb diet?? Can someone help?
