Re: hair and PCOS and doctors

The doctor who said that it didn't matter if you are hairy is a JERK! I think I would report him/her to the board of medicine or whatever your government licensing board is for health practitioners (he/she shouldn't get to treat people like that) and then I would talk to someone else. (It took me 11 years to find someone who would help me, so keep looking if you have to go to the ends of the earth. Help IS out there!)

I have had endos tell me that I need to get used to being a freak because I am hairy, and I am here to tell you that I am not a freak. I finally hooked up with a doc who knew what to do for me, and an electrologist who is absolutely wonderful, and at least now I feel like a real female. BTW, I have been married almost 9 years to a wonderfully supportive husband. He says the hair doesn't matter to him, but it matters to me. (It is hard to feel feminine when you look like one of the guys!)

I have taken BCP's for years, off and on, and as my levels fluctuate, my tolerance of BCP's does, too. Low-carbing has helped me a lot, as have Met and Spiro.

I've forgotten my point, other than ranting and raving about that jerkish doctor who should be drawn and quartered, but keep the faith!
