Hi,

Have a read of Joans Email on the 9th of Jan, she gives this web site http://www.inciid.org/faq/pcos.html which I have just been to. And it is very good...gives you masses of information on the whole PCOS business.

I have been diagnosed for several years now and have been on the fertility merry go round. Clomid, now ovulation treatment and IVF next if that doesnt work.

Although I can take a bit of hope from some of the messages I have read on this site and the fact that my sister has PCOS too...and has had her two girls naturally.

I am a Maori from New Zealand (living in Australia) and I've heard it said that women of Polynesian background are prone to PCOS and in addition to my sister having it...I know of at least one Aunty that has it too. So that may contribute to your genetically pre-disposed question. Although my mother doesnt have it...but she is of Anglo decent and had four kids!

I wanted to let you know that while PCOS and fertility issues can get a bit much at times... it is better for your mental and emotional health...not to let it take over. Life is for living and striving for ongoing happiness! So best of luck for the future and I hope you find the solution that works for you.
