The low carb diet really is the best way to lose weight when you have PCOS. I have had PCOS for about 15 years, and I hated being on b.c. pills, so recently my doctor started me on glucophage. I also follow a low carb diet and exercise regularly. I started on glucophage approx. 3 months ago, and have lost at least 20 pounds. You might want to try a diet which is 40-30-30 (40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat). The "Zone" is a good one, and you are allowed to eat fruits and vegetables. I eat them all the time; I just don't eat a lot of pasta, bread, potatoes and other starchy vegetables (corn, green beans, etc.). This is the best I've felt in years, and the first time I've been able to lose weight really easily. Good luck!!
