I am relatively new to the lo carb thing, but I think it is working for me. No, I'm not getting skinny (I've lost some and have noticed inches going away), but I FEEL better! I had a lot of carb withdrawal problems when I first started (but then I sat down and started to count out just how many carbs I was having in a day -- and that was an astounding amount, well over 100 for breakfast alone!), but after a few days that went away and I just plain FEEL better.

I was told to try this when I got on met a year ago, but I couldn't bring myself to do it because I just didn't feel like I wanted it badly enough. Finally I went to the doc in Nov and he wanted to know if I wanted to get my stomach stapled because I asked about me being so fat! That was enough for me, so I thought I would try this. I did go to the regular doc a couple of weeks ago and found out that I weigh 8-9 lbs less than I did this time last year when I was on weight watchers (and I had gained a gob over the year, so I must be losing), so I think this is a good thing.

Read up on Atkins and Schwarzbein. I'm doing Schwarzbein (low carb, not no carb) and my friend is doing Atkins (starts out almost no carb and then builds back up, or so that's how I understand it), and we both feel better. (She is a diabetic and has noticed her sugar has taken a big drop.) At any rate, read up before you do anything -- I felt more prepared for doing this once I knew what to expect and why it would help me.

Good luck!

Vanessa
