After deciding to 'get to know my body'before my husband and I officially started trying to have a family, I went off the pill. My last bcp related cycle was around X-mas '99. It was 4 months, with no period, before i went to see my doctor. She looked at my symptoms then sent me for an ultra sound. I was diagnosed with PCOS in April 2000. I have not responded to clomid (currently waiting to start glucophage after HSG) I have ovulated once this year. I had a miscarriage 16 days after ovulation. The pregnancy was achieved with out clomid as I ovulated on cycle day 43. I have been told that I am not insulin resistant and am wondering if a low carb diet is a good choice for me. Or would another weight loss program be just as effective. I definately want to lose this extra baggage and culd stand to lose about 100 lbs.

My apologies for this lengthly post but i am unsure as to what is and is not benificial to me situation and a low carb diet. Your input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Mellisa
