New to PCOS, need help!

Hello... I was diagnosed 2 years ago after 20 years of irregular periods, depression, bulimia. I've been reading some of these messages and there seems to be consensus that a low carb diet is key to getting off the weight - BUT my doctor said that low carb diets are fundamentally unhealthy and that I should avoid them. Also, he said that metformin is less helpful than the aldactone, so all I got was aldactone and BCP. I'm frustrated, confused, and anxious about all this. Can someone offer me some good advice?

Thanks.
