Hi Wendy,

The only reason you should be on metformin is because you are insulin resistant and trying to become pregnant. Is this your intent?

You should not be taking in any sugars if you can absolutely help it. Eat some baby carrots every once in a while, but stay off of the sugared sodas. They will make your stomach very upset and it reverses the reasons that you are taking metformin in the first place.

Eat lean meats, vegetables, cheeses, and whole grain breads if you need to. You can also buy some no-sugar added frozen strawberries and whipped toping which makes wonderful desserts. If you like angel food cake you can have a little of that, and cottage cheese also.

Good Luck
