Re: Country girl RANTS about city foodFrom: Vanessa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 26 Nov 2000 10:38:9 -0500
I thought I was the only one who was picky about meat and eggs and veggies! (Spiro has messed with my sense of taste until most meat tastes very nasty unless it is fresh.) I live in an area where I can get relatively good produce, providing I go to the right stores, but I discovered a really good farmer's market close to my office this week. I'm so tickled about that! I don't live in an area where it is common to have food delivered as you mentioned, but there is a health food store with an extensive market in it about 15 minutes away, so that helps. It really galls me to pay a small fortune for pretty veggies at the store only to get home and find out that they taste anything but good. I have been reading up on the Schwarzbein thing and am wondering how you go about ordering food. (That book mentions eating fresh as opposed to canned for health benefits.) Are there particular markets on the internet about that? Are some more reputable than others? Please let me know if you have suggestions for good ways to get better foods for those of us who live way outside a blazing metropolis!
