To Dana Re: PCOS and Weight LossFrom: Jo-Nita (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 21 Nov 2000 20:26:15 -0600 (CST)
Hi Dana, I was just curious about your dosage because so many women say that they had to be on at least 2500mg a day to see results. I started aldactone and will be put on Met soon (from my Endo) and he believes also that a dose less than 2500 mg is not always effective.Lots of women with PCOS are also Insulin Resistant. Then, the weight won't budge much in that situation without sticking religiously to a low carb diet and taking Met. I was just wondering if you could also have an insulin resistance problem. My symptoms were all so weird and unrelated and I was diagnosed I.R. and that led to my PCOS diagnosis. Also, I was wondering what doctor prescribed the Met.( An endo or family prac. or ?) You're welcome to e-mail me if you think I can be of more help to you.
