Xenical- an interesting approach

The most self-defeating thing about PCO is the rapid weight gain and being uncomfortable with yourself, particularly how people see you. While my doctor was able to diagnose this almost right away (she was a new doctor who took in a case history and pin pointed PCO immediately) she said come and see her when I was ready to start trying to get pregnant. That doesn't help how you feel about weight gain. When I was 18 I started gaining - joined a gym went everyday, sometimes twice a day and there was no change in my weight - however, the weight training did make a difference on how I felt. After years of battling and gaining, my doctor gave me a script for Xenical. I made some adjustments in my life in preparation, because, if anything, this medicaiton will scare you into the straight and narrow. I took this for two months and noticed an immediate change BUT you must follow the rules. I never experienced those nasty surprise side effects. I didn't take it with every meal, only when I new I couldn't avoid the fatty meals (supper) That helped cut down the cost. I increased my walking and I did lose weight. I used the drug not as a cure but as a training device -- it made me think about everything that was going into my body.

So, though it's expensive it was a helpful training tool that made me change my relationship with food.
