Dear Anonymous:
Please do not give up, I was diagnosed with pcos at the age of 21. I had just recently married and gained about 60 lbs. and could not lose. My doctor said the best thing for me would be to get pregnant. I was put on Clomid to no avail, 8 years past and I finally was able to lose 50 lbs while attending Weight Watchers, but still had 50 more to go. However I was still unable to get pregnant and nearing
30 years old. I decided to go to a fertility doctor where I was told I had no visible problems(blocked tubes, etc) he tried me again with clomid, but with artificial insemination. This did not work, he than put me on fertinex
injections w/ artificial insemination. After 11 years of trying I was finally pregnant after the 1st try w/ fertinex.
We were so happy. But at 18 weeks pregnant I began to bleed and ended up going into premature labor. I delivered Zachary Cooper August 1, 1998, he was too young to survive.
We were so devastated but didn't give up. We again tried Fertinex w/ insemenation 3 more times and could not get pregnant. After no luck the doctors decided I would be a
great candidate for invitro. I was so nervous hearing many horror stories. I couldn't beleive how easy it was and painless. The first try we found out it worked Dec 23,1999,
but bleeding began a week later. I was put on bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy. At 14 weeks I had a cervical cerclage, because when I lost Zachary I was diagosed with a incompatent cervix. On August 28, 2000 I had my little angel Sara. Every time I look at her I realize what a blessing she is and will definately try again in a couple years. By the way when I got pregnant I had gained most of the weight back that I lost. But while I was pregnant I heard about the Zone diet, I followed it thru my whole pregnancy (MALE PORTION SIZES). I gained only 5 lbs through out the pregnancy, my doctor was very happy. I am still on the Zone and have lost on an average of 2 lbs a week.
