Hi Kelly Syndrome X, is the medical term for Insulin Resistance that was coined by this Dr Gerald Reaven. He has a book out called "Syndrome X how to prevent a heart attack". I have had it on backorder at Amazon, but I see Barnes and Nobles has it in stock. I have corresponded with this Dr and he says that PCOS is mentioned in the book, and he thinks this diet is the correct way to address it. There is another diet book out by Jack Challem supposedly using this Drs research, but Dr Reaven doesn't support Jack Challem's conclusions. He oversimplifies and to prevent people from trying to figure out what is simple vs complex carbs, Challem just has you severely restrict all carbs. I will let you know how it goes when I start on it. Cindi At Wed, 25 Oct 2000, Kelly wrote: >
