New to PCOSFrom: Carrie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 3 Nov 2000 11:47:58 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I just wanted to let my presence be known on the board. I am 26 years old and have had irregular cycles since about 16 years old. I also started to put on weight at 18. My doctors put me on Birth Control pills to "regulate" me. I am now married and we want to have kids, I came off of the BC pills in 1996 and my doctor has ignored the fact that I am not regular. Finally, this year I am seeing an infertility specialist and what do you know, I have PCOS. This doctor did all of the bloodwork and everything came back low-norm. She is tring Clomid so that I will ovulate and conceive. She also said,"you should try and lose some weight." I have been tring for years to lose weight and nothing works for me. (Or I am not doing it right.) Here are some of my obsticles... I have a terrible motivation problem, my husband doesn't need to lose weight, Neither of us can cook very well, and I am easily bored with diets. So now what? (I am not looking for a miricle, I am just looking to vent a little, this is a lot to take in and I hold a lot of resentment towards all of the doctors that ignore the problem.) Thank you for listening and anyone is welcome to email me. PS. Anyone in Michigan?
