Hi Kelly, my name is Jamie, and I am pretty new to this PCOS thing. I found out I had it years ago but my dr. treated me like it was "no big deal" so I just forgot about it. Now that I am learning more, I want to clobber her upside the head!!!! She knew my aunt and mom are both type 2 diabetics...oh well. Anyway, I dont have a major weight problem, only around 25lbs to lose, so I started watching my carbos and sugar intake. I found that for the first week, I wanted to go crazy. I would eat a "good for me" meal and KNOW I was full, but still know something was missing. I was craving carbs like my boyfriend has nicotine fits. But after about a week, thay started to subside. But the best thing I have found, is that within 3 days of changing my diet, I have the energy I havent had in YEARS. I was someone who could sleep ANYTIME/ANYWHERE. I needed at least 8 hrs of sleep every night. I now find that I am waking up at least an hour before my alarm goes off every morning and not yawning all day at work!!!! It is AMAZING. That is motivation enough for me!!! I feel great, and I got my period last week, which I usually get once a year. Its really hard the 1st week and I am sure I will go through some tough times ahead, but boy is it worth it. Jamie
