Dear Jen,

I have been using the Zone for several months now with great results. I have lost about 20 lbs. and have another 50 lbs. to go, but the Zone works well for anyone. The first thing I did was eliminate bread, pasta and potatoes, although I do occasionally have a baked potato. Make sure to get a wide variety of vegetables and fruits in your diet, so that you don't get bored and you can use whole grain rice sparingly as well as some legumes. For me, the hardest meal to be creative with is breakfast, so I am currently trying to put together a collection of easy Zone breakfasts to use. Are you limited in the types of vegetable that you like or are you just finding it hard to incorporate them into your meals? I think the easiest way to follow the Zone is to use the eyeball method. I place whatever protein I'm having on my plate and then I fill up the rest of the plate with good carbs. I have found it very easy to stay within the recommended caloric intake following this method. Hope this helps.
