Re: zone dietFrom: Joan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 24 Oct 2000 13:29:08 -0500 (CDT)
Jen, I hate measuring and counting myself. I own the 'Soy Zone' and appreciate it in principle but prefer a less restrictive approach. I just try to use the glycemic index as a general guideline.Basically, I avoid white flour, sugar, potatoes and white rice. I try to eat whole grain items-whole wheat bread, brown rice, whole wheat pasta etc.. This took a little adjustment on my part. Since I am somewhat wary of artificial sweeteners, I use fructose in baked goods etc..(much lower glycemic index). This seems to be working pretty well for me and I do not feel deprived as I might on a 'diet'. If you're interested you may want to check out this link: http://www.mendosa.com/gilists.htm
