Jen, I hate measuring and counting myself. I own the 'Soy Zone' and appreciate it in principle but prefer a less restrictive approach. I just try to use the glycemic index as a general guideline.Basically, I avoid white flour, sugar,potatoes and white rice. I try to eat whole grain items-whole wheat bread, brown rice, whole wheat pasta etc.. This took a little adjustment on my part. Since I am somewhat wary of artificial sweeteners, I use fructose in baked goods etc..(much lower glycemic index). This seems to be working pretty well for me and I do not feel deprived as I might on a 'diet'.
