Hi Jo

Definately look up an endocrinologist, a good one is worth their weight in gold. Dont listen to anyone who says ' you should be able to lose weight (read here: you're obviously doing something wrong) ' that kind of ignorance is unforgivable - the Insulin relationship with this disease has been know about for years. As a result of Dr's telling me that for fifteen years, and not treating the PCOS, I ended up with Endometrial Hyperplaysia! PCOS CAN be treated, with lifestyle measures, and Metformin if you are insulin resistant. With your contacts, you should be able to find an Endo who specialises in this illness.

Your life will change! Do it!

this article in the Australian Medical Journal may help...

something to bear in mind - even thin women with PCOS have the same increased risk of Diabetes and Heart disease.

I am finding a Low- G.I diet is working well for me, with very little hardship.
