I've had terrile pcos symptoms most of my life and I'm now 36. I've been on metformin for 9 mos now and I've had spectacular results. It took 4-5 months on it before I saw improvements. I've lost 35 pounds with only 15 more to go. I'm ovulating most most months but not all. I've never felt better, truly. I've been following the most nutritionally balanced low carb, low fat diet I can for the past 8 years and until I went on met I couldn't lose weight. My liver and other organs are fine with or without the met and on and off the low carb diets. Maybe what you need to do is follow low carb, low fat and only reasonable healthy amounts of protein. I don't eat too much protein, I think that would be dangerous. Best of luck.
