I saw my endocrinologist today...I too am 290, 43 yrs and PCOS....I have
been on glucaphage for a month....and she said that the a low carb diet
with exercies is a good thing to go on, but that the Atkins diet was
much to seiver. And that just watching the intake of breads, pastas,
rice would be the best thing. But I should not cut down on veggies and
fruits as the atkins diet does. She also said that a low carb diet
should be followed for 1-2 months, then take a week off and resume
again...something about limiting carbs on a long term bases was not
good. Hope that helped
