Aitkins, CAD, The Zone - confusing me, any basic guidance books available?

Hi Everyone

I was just diagnosed with PCOS, and immediately got on the Net to find out more. (thank God for the Internet!) I have bought 'The Zone' and Carbohydrate Addicts book, as the Low-carb way seems very appropriate. I am incredibly overwhelmed though. My lifestyle at the moment is NOT conducive to changing the way I eat - I am on a work contract, living in a hotel for six months, with no cooking facilities, and only a tiny bar fridge. Does anyone know of any BASIC instructions I can follow - should I have a meat and salad roll for lunch? can I have the scrambled eggs at the hotel? what am allowed to drink aside from water? How little fruit should I be eating? I LOVE FRUIT!! :-( What prepared food is 'safe' As I said, I am still very much in the early stages of emotionally coping with this illness - and cannot channel my thoughts in any one direction.

Any help would be much appreciated.
