Dear OBGYN.netters:

We have an exciting update to the Chronic Pelvic Pain section. You can view the update at http://www.obgyn.net/cpp/cpp.htm We have a new and exciting look! Come and see how we have changed!

We are pleased to announce the International Pelvic Pain Society Symposium will be held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on October, 20, 1999. The symposium will assist primary care physicians, gynecologists, urologists, anesthesiologists, physical therapists, nurses, psychologist and other health professionals in managing patients with chronic pelvic pain.

We would also like to announce that the 38th Annual Ob/Gyn Fall Symposium. Their meeting will be held from September 22, 1999 to September 24th. It is organized by the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Department of Ob/Gyn. The topic will be Gynecology and Obstetrics.

The IMET and Postgraduate Institute for Medicine with be sponsoring a conference on "Hysterectomies and Their Alternatives: The 10 Year Anniversary of LAVH" This will be held in Phoenix, CA. from September 30, 1999 to October 2, 1999.

James E. Carter, MD, OBGYN.net Editorial Advisor, is presenting the Feature Article this month on, "Laparoscopic-Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy: A Case Control Comparative Study With Total Abdominal Hysterectomy."

Highlights From IPPS include interviews by Deborah Metzger, MD, OBGYN.net Editorial Advisor. She interviews Dr. Pat Mulgrady on "The Relationship of Diet, High Insulin & Pain."
